Our Mission

To highlight both new and established African-American cabaret performers, encourage their professional development as entertainers in their unique genres, and provide them with opportunities to perform and be exposed to new audiences.

To introduce the Art of Cabaret entertainment to new and under-served communities in the Chicago area and beyond, and to feature venues not yet discovered and audiences not yet approached. We want to engage these communities with shows, seminars, and other events celebrating the intimacy of live cabaret performance.

To educate audiences about the history of Chicago cabaret as seen through Black eyes, and uplift the cabaret repertoire with material created by African-American composers and writers.

Cabaret is inclusive of all musical genres. Our mission includes exploring a wide variety of performing styles and genres (Rhythm and Blues, Spoken Word, Soul, Gospel, Jazz, Classical song, Magic, etc.).
